UNLV's Marjorie Barrick Museum, in conjunction with the College of Fine Arts, will host The Prince: A Retrospective Exhibition of Work by Tony Curtis Featuring Paintings, Prints, Drawings and Sculptural Assemblages. The exhibition begins with a reception for Curtis from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, December 10 and runs through the end of January. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

"I have found joy and pleasure in expressing myself in unspoken languages and abstract ways," Curtis said. "This is a passion that is instilled in all of us. I am privileged that I have found an outlet for my expression."

"Tony Curtis is a living legend and it is an honor to host this retrospective that reflects so many facets of his life," said Jeffrey Koep, dean of the College of Fine Arts at UNLV. "He is a good friend of the Fine Arts College and is generous of his time with students. His contributions to the artistic community here in Las Vegas and around the world are something we respect and celebrate."

Curtis has had many major one-man exhibitions in the United States and his London debut exhibition sold out before it opened to the public. His bright acrylic canvases, which have been compared to Matisse, assemblages, collages and boxes are in the private collections of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, Frank and Kathy Lee Gifford, Arsenio Hall, Kirk Douglas, and the late Frank Sinatra and Walter Mathau. Curtis' originals are also on display at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, The Toronto Museum, National Hungarian Museum, Harrods Department Store, Spago Restaurants, The Navy Memorial, The Mirage in Las Vegas, and the Caitlyn Gallery in St. Louis.

Robert Tracy, Aurore Giguet and Mark Burns will curate the exhibition.
